Precipitation-Hardened Copper Alloy with High Hardness

This precipitation-hardened beryllium copper alloy with cobalt and nickel additions combines high hardness with thermal stability and reliable dimensional stability.
Its fine-grained microstructure reduces susceptibility to cracking as well as thermal and mechanical fatigue, even under continuous high-duty conditions. The alloy offers good formability, corrosion resistance, and maintains dimensional accuracy over time, even under tight tolerances.

SVS Capabilities

Material Behaviour

Key Material Properties

  • High Strength

After precipitation hardening, the alloy reaches exceptionally high strength and maintains dimensional stability under continuous mechanical loading. It is one of the strongest copper alloys available and is well suited for components exposed to high mechanical loads.

  • Thermal Conductivity

The alloy offers high thermal conductivity, which makes it suitable for components subject to intense thermal loading. This property supports longer service life and contributes to process stability, particularly in resistance welding applications where efficient heat dissipation is critical.

  • Electrical Conductivity

The alloy ensures low-loss current transfer and maintains electrical conductivity even under intensive duty cycles. This makes it a reliable choice for high-performance electrical and electronic systems.

  • Corrosion Resistance

The alloy composition provides high resistance to moisture, chemicals and oxidizing media. his resistance ensures long-term usability in aggressive industrial environments and reduces the need for maintenance or replacement.

Fields of Application

Examples of Use

This copper-based high-temperature alloy is engineered for demanding conditions in resistance welding. It keeps its shape and function over long service periods. Applications include welding wheels, grid welding blocks, mounting elements and electrode holders.

Its high structural integrity under heat, combined with strong temper resistance and mechanical stability, also qualifies it for tooling and mold construction. It performs reliably where temperature shifts and repeated loading occur.

Industries at a glance
The material is typically used in electrical engineering, welding technology, die casting, toolmaking, and aerospace industries.
