High-strength, Hardened Copper Alloy
This cobalt-(nickel)-beryllium copper alloy is characterized by high hardness and thermal stability. Its fine-grained microstructure ensures dimensional stability under intense operating conditions and reduces cracking as well as thermal and mechanical fatigue. The alloy also provides good formability and strong resistance to corrosion.
Applications include welding electrodes for resistance welding processes, highly stressed contact elements, and thermally loaded components that require long service life.

Why SVS

Key Features
Advantages of Cobalt-Beryllium-Copper Alloy
High Strength
By adding cobalt and beryllium, the alloy achieves exceptionally high strength values and resistance to mechanical stress.
Optimal Thermal Conductivity
High thermal conductivity ensures efficient heat dissipation in demanding applications such as die casting molds.
Excellent Electrical Properties
High electrical conductivity makes the alloy ideal for high-performance electrical applications.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion behavior corresponds to that of deoxidized copper with no tendency to stress corrosion cracking.
Applications
Applications
This copper alloy is used in resistance welding systems, particularly for seam welding wheels, mesh welding blocks, holders, and shafts that must maintain dimensional stability over extended service life. Thanks to its high hot hardness and tempering resistance, WIRBALIT® B is also used in tool and mold manufacturing, where components are subjected to extreme thermal cycling and mechanical stress.
Examples of use:
Submerged arc welding (SAW), Projection welding, Resistance spot welding, Seam welding, Mesh welding, Stud welding.
