Precise design, stable procecss: SVS standards for electrode arms
Electrode arms are manufactured to tight tolerances and can be quickly and precisely integrated into the gun system. The high rigidity of the construction ensures dimensional stability even under mechanical stress and temperature fluctuations. This allows current and welding force to be evenly transferred to the electrode.
Available in standard designs and as custom solutions based on drawings or samples. We precisely adapt the geometry and design to your clamps and process requirements.

What lies behind consistent manufacturing quality
All components are manufactured in Germany and can be precisely tailored to your application. Standard versions are immediately available, ensuring short delivery times.
Manufactured with tight tolerances on high-performance machines with stable clamping systems and consistent tool settings to prevent dimensional deviations across series.
Consistently machined contact surfaces with low roughness reduce contact resistance and promote even current distribution across the weld zone.
All electrodes undergo quality-assured testing. For demanding use cases, we offer individual testing according to defined specifications.
We offer bespoke designs based on your technical specifications. Geometry and material are co-developed with your team to meet your production requirements.
Decades of experience shape every SVS product and contribute to the development of technical standards as an active member of the German Welding Association (DSV).

Applications
The core function of electrode arms in spot welding
In resistance spot welding, electrode arms conduct the welding current from the transformer to the electrode, apply mechanical welding force, and dissipate heat from the system. During the current pulse, they press the electrode onto the workpiece and ensure that current and force are introduced in a controlled manner into the joining zone. Simultaneously, cooling water circulates through internal channels to prevent overheating in the current and force transmission zone.
Quality-relevant features of electrode arms
For reliable current transmission under high mechanical loads, only materials with high conductivity, strength, and heat resistance are suitable. CuCrZr is suitable for maximum current density, while aluminum is suitable for dynamically loaded systems with high movement frequencies.
Only precisely manufactured electrode arms ensure stress-free installation and stable electrode coupling. Deviations can lead to contact faults, unstable current flow, and altered weld nugget geometry.
The mechanical rigidity of the arm directly influences the force application. Only dimensionally stable geometries avoid deflection, prevent positional deviations and ensure consistent welding conditions.
Lengths and connection dimensions must be precisely matched to the clamp, transformer, and cooling system. Only with precise integration can the position remain stable and the current, power and heat conduction be permanently reproducible.
