Precise Fit, Steady Flow:
SVS Standards for Electrode Arms
Electrode arms are produced with tight tolerances and integrate precisely into the welding gun system. Their rigid construction ensures dimensional stability under load and thermal stress. This guarantees consistent and reliable transmission of current and force to the electrode.
Available as standard version or custom-made based on your drawings or samples. Geometry, interfaces and material are precisely matched to your requirements.

Fundamentals
Function of Electrode Arms in Spot Welding
Electrode arms conduct welding current from the transformer to the electrode, apply welding force to the component and dissipate process heat. During each weld pulse, they press the electrode onto the workpiece, ensuring controlled transfer of current and pressure into the joint. Internal cooling channels carry water through the arm, preventing thermal overload at the contact points.
Key Parameters of Electrode Arms
Reliable current transfer under mechanical load requires materials with excellent conductivity, high strength and thermal resistance. CuCrZr is preferred for applications with high current density and thermal stress. Aluminum is suitable for systems under dynamic loads where low weight and fast motion are critical.
Only precisely manufactured electrode arms allow for strain-free assembly and ensure stable electrode contact. Even small deviations can lead to contact issues, unstable current flow, and inconsistent weld results.
The arm’s mechanical rigidity directly affects force transmission. Only form-stable components maintain alignment and secure repeatable welding conditions in every cycle.
Arms must be precisely configured in length, geometry and interfaces to match the welding gun, transformer and cooling setup. This ensures consistent performance under continuous use.
