Projection welding at a glance
In projection welding, workpieces are joined together at defined points by preformed elevations – known as projections. The components are clamped between electrodes and pressurised and the welding current flows specifically through the projections, whose high resistance generates local heat. This causes the projections to melt, join with the opposite surface and solidify into a strong welded joint.

Replaceable electrodes
See productReplaceable electrodes transfer current and contact pressure specifically to the formed projections. They ensure the energy input that melts the projections and creates the connection. Made from WIRBALIT® HF/N/G (CuCr1Zr).
Centring and positioning pins
See productPositioning pins ensure precise alignment during projection welding. They engage in pre-drilled holes and position the components with repeatable accuracy at each cycle. Available in silicon nitride (Si₃N₄), zirconium oxide (ZrO₂, solid ceramic) or steel with ceramic coating.
Connection cables
See productConnection cables transmit the welding current from the power source to the clamp with minimal loss. They are available as air- or water-cooled versions made of Cu-ETP or oxygen-free copper (OFC).
Lamella shunts
See productLamella shunts flexibly conduct welding current between the electrode arms and the clamp and compensate for movements during the welding process. They consist of stacked copper lamellae and are available in standard dimensions or as customised versions.
