Spot welding at a glance

In spot welding, overlapping sheets are pressed together by two electrodes and welded at specific points. The current flows through the contact point, where the electrical resistance generates heat and causes the material to melt locally. When it solidifies, a strong, permanent connection is formed.

    Spot welding electrodes transfer current and contact pressure precisely to the joining zone and ensure stable weld spots. Available in straight, offset, Dalex or custom configurations. Manufactured from highly conductive copper or WIRBALIT® HF (CuCr1Zr).

    Electrode caps

    Electrode caps transfer the welding current and form the contact surface to the workpiece. They are available in all standard designs in accordance with DIN ISO 5821 and are made of zirconium copper (CuZr), WIRBALIT® CA (CuAl₂O₃) or WIRBALIT® HF (CuCr1Zr).
