Welding Method

TIG Welding: Process, Advantages and Application Areas

In TIG welding, an arc is formed between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the workpiece. An inert shielding gas protects the weld zone from oxidation. The result is a high-quality seam formed by melting the base material, with or without added filler metal.

This process produces clean, spatter-free welds with consistent quality. It is mainly used for thin sheets of aluminium, stainless and corrosion-resistant steels. Typical applications include pipeline and vessel construction as well as the aerospace components.

Product Overview

  • Electrode for TIG/WIG Welding made from tungsten

    Electrodes

Tungsten electrodes conduct the current directly to the joint area and stabilize the arc. Available in pure tungsten, tungsten-lanthanum oxide, tungsten-cerium oxide, and tungsten-thorium oxide.

  • Gas Nozzles

Gas nozzles distribute the shielding gas evenly around the arc, protecting the weld pool and arc from oxidation. Available in conical or cylindrical form, with various diameters and lengths. Made of copper or copper alloys, optionally nickel-plated, chrome-plated, or ceramic-coated.
